Field Construction Supervisor

About the Role

Construction management, including inspection of landfill, water resources, and other civil engineering projects for compliance with contract plans, specifications, permits, and other associated contract documents and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections at required project sites.
• Perform topographic and documentation surveys at project sites.
• Preparation of status and daily inspection reports for documentation of work observed.
• Provide assistance with constructability reviews, cost estimates, schedules, equipment evaluation, manpower assessment, and other civil engineering design and construction support functions.
• Provide assistance with contract administration functions during construction, including quantity calculations/review, schedule analysis, change order preparation, correspondence, RFI responses, submittal review and responses, pay estimate processing, and documentation preparation, logging, and tracking.
• Support design engineers and construction managers on technical tasks, including data collection entry and analysis, literature research, spreadsheet development, and other general engineering tasks.
• Assist in marketing and business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client development, and networking.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and highly self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
• Willing to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Surveying and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Valid Wisconsin Driving License.
• Capable of passing all necessary safety training.
• Capable of performing work duties on typical construction and manufacturing sites, including climbing ladders, walking on slopes and uneven ground, and being around construction and manufacturing equipment.
• Willing to travel and staff required construction job sites as needed.

Physical Requirements

This role involves the following physical demands:

• Sedentary to medium activity level throughout the workday.
• Occasional sitting (0-2 hours).
• Frequent standing and walking (6-8 hours).
• Occasional climbing, lifting (up to 25 lbs), carrying, pushing/pulling (4-6 hours), twisting, bending, reaching, squatting/kneeling/crawling, and keyboard use/repetitive motion.
• Accurate near and far vision, color discrimination, and depth perception.
• Regular talking and hearing.

Environmental exposure risks may include uneven surfaces, extreme noise levels, dust/particulate matter, and typical construction/manufacturing site conditions.

Usual workday hours: 8.
