Position Summary
The Field Calibration Technician is responsible for providing on-site calibration, maintenance, and technical support to ensure customer equipment meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site calibration, maintenance, and minor repairs on handheld pipettes and laboratory instruments
- Provide customer training and support to ensure proper use and care of equipment
- Accurately document calibration data, service activities, and maintenance records in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Manage and coordinate daily service appointments and travel within assigned territory
- Operate a company-provided service vehicle to deliver efficient on-site service
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and enhance customer experience
- Maintain current knowledge of products, calibration methods, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in field service, calibration, or technical support (lab or life sciences preferred)
- Experience with pipette calibration is a plus
- Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements in life sciences is preferred
- Proficiency with calibration software, diagnostic tools, and digital systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and prioritize tasks
- Willingness to travel locally with occasional travel outside the region
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license required
