Field Biologist (Field Based)
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-construction surveys across the client’s project area.
- Work independently in remote locations.
- Electronic data collection using handheld devices.
- GPS data collection with sub-meter accuracy.
- Daily reporting and compilation of survey reports.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- Comply with ERM’s rigorous safety program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Field Biology experience, including expertise in vegetation ecology, rare plant identification, or botany.
- Experience with Fisher technology is a plus.
- Experience with wildlife exclusion fence, environmentally sensitive areas, no work buffers, or wildlife exclusion zones.
- Familiarity with nesting bird survey protocols and/or general bird identification skills.
- Experience with San Joaquin Kit Fox (SJKF), California Tiger Salamander (CTS), or Swainson's hawk (SWHA).
- Strong attention to detail in documentation of work.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Pay and Benefits
Annual base pay range: $74,825 – $96,901, $35.97/hr – $46.58/hr USD.
This role is limited-term, non-exempt, and eligible for bonus pay (if applicable).

Eligibility for benefits is limited to Regular employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Fixed-Term employees (including Flexforce) who are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours a week or more are eligible for a limited benefits package. Casual employees are NOT benefits eligible.
