Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-construction nesting bird and other special status species surveys
- Monitor construction activities and provide guidance for compliance
- Coordinate with construction crews and environmental inspectors
- Electronic data collection using handheld devices and GPS
- Compile daily reports and survey reports
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations
Requirements
- At least 2 years of Avian Biology and other Special Status Species experience
- Familiarity with nesting bird survey protocols and bird identification skills
- Experience with pygmy rabbit, Burrowing Owl, Golden Eagle, Ferruginous Hawk
- Electric Transmission and BLM experience
- Ability to work safely in variable weather and challenging terrain
- Sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills
- Strong attention to detail in documentation
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to work independently in remote locations
- Driver’s License required
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license

- Must be willing to work in the field for an extended period
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must be able to travel with overnight stays possible
- Must have strong independent and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
Pay
Annual base pay range: $74,825 – $93,600
Hourly rate range: $35.97/hr – $45.00/hr USD
Limited-term, non-exempt
Bonus pay may be available based on performance and business needs.
