Field Auto Adjuster - National General

About the role

This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to join our Claims team supporting the South San Diego territory. This is a remote, territory-based role that handles claims both virtually and in the field throughout the South San Diego area, including Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, La Mesa, Spring Valley, Lemon Grove, National City, Imperial Beach, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers
• Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits
• Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
• Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses

Qualifications

• Experience managing a variety of auto claims
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections
• Experience using CCC ONE estimating software to prepare accurate damage estimates
• Experience working closely with repair facilities and customers
• Must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating, when working from home
• Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload

Licensing requirements

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.

Pay

• Field Adjuster Cons I: $26.49 – $40.99/hour
• Field Adjuster Cons II: $28.03 – $43.70/hour
• Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $35.82 – $50.24/hour
• Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include additional components, such as incentive pay (for example, commission or bonus), if applicable.
