Field Auditor
About the role
The role of a senior-level Auditor position conducts risk assessments to support the annual audit plan, performs completed audit follow-up with corrective action plans, and assists in the development and revision of audit programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct audits to determine if business is operating within the scope of applicable State law.
- Review various records as they pertain to the assigned functions.
- Prepare current ratio and balance sheet reports on licensed firms as assigned.
- Submit written and oral reports of audit findings to the agency.
- Aid and service various entities in the license application process as assigned.
- Provide recommendations of business status and solvency to the Director and the agency.
- Compile information for potential criminal prosecution.
- Testify as necessary at legal proceedings as a field auditor.
- Represent the agency in business relations within the state.
Requirements
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge and skill typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree, related academic training and relevant work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree where appropriate.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret applicable state and federal regulations.
- Specialized knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, business management, and economics.
- Ability to use computers and familiarity with basic data entry, word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and with others as needed.
- Maintain all applicable safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel extensively within the state with some nights away from home to conduct audits.

Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $59,800.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
Schedule
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
