Field Archaeologist -Flex
About the role
As a Field Archaeologist- Flex Force for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Phoenix, AZ office, you will work on a variety of projects, including Phase I archaeological surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects. You will have the opportunity to travel to several US regions. You will be a part of a team that navigates today’s complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients with Cultural Resource compliance under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
Responsibilities
- Work on a variety of projects, including Phase I archaeological surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects
- Travel to several US regions
- Navigate the complex environmental regulatory landscape
- Help clients with Cultural Resource compliance under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act
- Duration of field work varies from 1-7 days for typical projects, and some larger projects may last from 20-30 days
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field
- Ability to speak and write professionally
- Previous archaeology experience, including internship or field school is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with archaeological field methods, GPS devices, data collector/total station, and GIS preferred
