About the role
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will collaborate with the team supporting a major, world-class customer. This role involves developing test programs on IC test platforms, providing technical expertise and value to customers, and building application solutions based on customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop test programs on IC test platforms.
- Provide technical expertise and value to customers.
- Provide technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Help to solve customer inquiries concerning system software and applications.
- Provide software/hardware development and consultation.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to gain customer trust and drive expansion of Teradyne’s market share.
Requirements
- Bachelor or higher degree in EE, computer science or related fields OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience with test program development. Experience with the UltraFlex or UltraFlex Plus platforms experience preferred.
- VBT, C# and .Net framework program development capabilities.
- Probe Card and Load Board debug experience preferred.
- System Level testing and debug experience preferred.
- Ability to work well on your own as well as part of a globally dispersed team.
- Strong reasoning skills along with practical problem-solving skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills, relationships-building skills and commitment to teamwork and “can-do” spirit.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in developing specifications with a customer is a plus.
- Must be able to carry auto liability or minimum insurance due to automotive responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Skills
- Technical expertise in test program development.
- Experience with UltraFlex or UltraFlex Plus platforms.
- Programming skills in VBT, C#, and .Net framework.
- Debugging experience with Probe Cards and Load Boards.
- System level testing and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Pay
The base salary range for this role is $139,400 - $223,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday.
