Field Account Representative

About the role
You will spend the majority of your time traveling throughout your territory, meeting with automotive businesses, recyclers, scrap yards, and industrial suppliers to develop relationships, identify purchasing opportunities, and grow AIM’s supplier network. This is not a traditional office-based sales position. Success in this role requires a combination of business development, face-to-face relationship building, material inspection, and hands-on field work.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle, lift and move material during inspections and collections.
- Build strong relationships with existing and new suppliers throughout your assigned territory.
- Negotiate directly with suppliers and prepare accurate, timely bids based on material value.
- Evaluate catalytic converters based on market factors and conduct negotiations directly with suppliers during on-site interactions, ensuring profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular in-person site visits.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure efficient process and transportation of materials.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in automotive, recycling, transportation, construction or other relevant industries.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, load and unload materials weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to travel daily throughout an assigned territory with some overnight travel required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
