About the role
Join Metronet as a Fiber Technician in Broken Arrow, OK and help deliver high-speed internet and phone services to residential and business customers. You’ll handle installations, service changes, disconnects, and basic troubleshooting from the fiber terminal or ONT to customer devices (modem, wireless devices, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot all Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
- Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
- Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services and products to customers.
- Maintain professionalism with customers and colleagues.
- Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Perform on-call rotation duties after regular business hours.
- Work overtime when necessary, including holidays and weekends.
- Travel for training or as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with a telecom/fiber company preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to work from a kneeling or standing position for long periods.
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet with proper safety equipment (safety belt, hard hat, etc.).
- Able to lift and carry loads up to 75 lbs, including ladders.
- Ability to work with basic hand tools and specialized equipment with training.
- Operate and maintain company vehicle/equipment safely and professionally.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
