Responsibilities
- Produce end-to-end fiber optic networks with a focus on quality and excellence
- Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
- Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks
- Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
- Utilize fusion splicer and test equipment including OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, and Power meter
- Apply fiber engineering knowledge: fiber design, reading documentation, understanding light levels, and dB loss
- Work in outdoor utility construction sites
Requirements
- Safety is a priority in your day-to-day work
- Track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- Problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to challenges
- Interest in long-term projects and teamwork
- At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
- Comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
- Flexible and open to a variety of shifts with overtime
