Fiber Splicer

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Prep fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, test equipment, OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Fiber engineer knowledge of fiber design, reading documentation, understanding of light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day
• Track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• A knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoying a hands-on approach to your work
• Looking for long-term projects
• Enjoying getting your hands dirty with your team
• At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• Comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• Flexible and enjoying a variety of shifts with overtime

Pay

$25-$40 per hour
