Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize a fusion splicer, test equipment, OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, and Power meter
• Apply fiber engineering knowledge, including fiber design, reading documentation, understanding light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Requirements

• Safety is a priority in your day-to-day work
• Track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• Ability to troubleshoot hard problems with a hands-on approach
• Interest in long-term projects and teamwork
• At least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• Comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts with overtime
• Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems and mechanical principles
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

MOS Codes V80B, B05A, 3D157, 6423, and 5699 are relevant to this position.
