Fiber Splice Technician
About the role
This role supports the expansion of Centerline’s offices in the Maine area, focusing on ISP, OSP, and aerial fiber builds. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, customer-focused individual ready to grow with a professional team.
Responsibilities
- A solid understanding of multiple OSP/ISP splice enclosures by various manufacturers.
- Undergo additional training or immersion into specific customer needs and demonstrate responsibility for those needs.
- Demonstrate advanced cable prep, single and mass fusion splicing, and termination abilities.
- Show excellent fiber optic test and troubleshooting skills, including fiber characterization, iOLM, and advanced documentation and deliverable responsibilities.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and training abilities, as well as basic crew/project management responsibilities.
- Show a basic understanding and abilities to negotiate ARC/GIS, Telvent, and Trimble software.
- Be able to demonstrate independence in judgment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Have regular contact with co-workers and customers.
- Take and pass OSHA-10 Certification within 90 days of start date.
- Pass and continue to pass DOT Physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Travel expected; may involve some nights & weekends.
- Overtime should generally be expected.
Requirements
- Experience as a Fiber Optic Splice Technician.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to perceive differences in colors.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic computer functions and ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to make independent judgments and perform repetitive tasks.
- Regular contact with co-workers and customers.
- Take and pass OSHA-10 Certification within 90 days of start date.
- Pass and continue to pass DOT Physical, drug screen, and background check.

Qualifications

Skills
