About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, high-level Fiber Foreman to lead and support fiber installation operations across our data center construction projects in the IAD market. This role requires a seasoned fiber professional who can both execute hands-on splicing and testing work and lead large teams of technicians in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Travel to project sites is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and supervise large teams of fiber technicians on active job sites
- Perform and oversee fiber pulling, dressing, and labeling in accordance with project specifications
- Execute and manage fiber splicing operations, ensuring quality and consistency across all terminations
- Conduct fiber testing using LC, MPO-12, and MPO-16 connector types
- Operate industry-standard test equipment including EXFO, Fluke Versiv2, and Viavi platforms
- Perform OTDR testing and troubleshoot fiber link issues
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints and schematics to guide installation and splicing work
- Complete accurate, detailed daily reporting on job progress, quality, and issues
- Ensure jobsite compliance with safety standards and company protocols
- Travel to various project sites as required by business needs
Requirements
- Proven experience in fiber pulling and installation techniques
- Strong background in fiber dressing and fiber labeling standards
- Experienced fiber splicer with demonstrated splicing technique proficiency
- Experience testing fiber connector types: LC, MPO-12, MPO-16
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as EXFO, Fluke Versiv2, and Viavi
- Proficiency with OTDR testing and interpretation
- Strong reporting skills able to produce clear, accurate daily reports
- Demonstrated ability to lead and organize large teams of technicians
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Willingness and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI certification (Technician, Installer2, or RCDD)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Prior experience in data center or hyperscale construction environments
- Experience with structured cabling and OSP/ISP fiber systems
