FEMALE Adult Detention Deputy

About the role

The Twin Falls County Sheriff's office is accepting applications for a Deputy Sheriff to fill current vacancies and to establish an eligibility roster for future openings in the area of Adult Detention. 12 hour shifts, days vary.

Responsibilities

• Makes sure the safety and security of the County detention center.
• Monitors the activities of inmates and staff to protect their rights.
• Processes new inmates, including fingerprinting, photography, and booking duties.
• Ensures proper inmate release and handles paperwork.
• Maintains facility security by patrolling and operating security systems.
• Monitors inmate behavior and activities, including meal times and phone calls.
• Distributes and monitors the use of medications, mail, and commissary items.
• Administers inmate work release and performs random urinalysis.
• Transports and escorts inmates as needed.
• Responds to inmate requests for medical assistance.
• Keeps logs and maintains required documentation.
• Investigates incidents and prepares reports.
• Communicates and coordinates with other departments.
• Interacts with the public and other law enforcement agencies.
• Assists in various law enforcement tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Completion of the Department's Field Training Program.
• Idaho Driver's License.
• Additional certifications for specialized assignments may be required.
• Comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprints, polygraph, and psych evaluation.
• Must remain in good standing for the duration of employment.
