About the role
The Twin Falls County Sheriff's office is accepting applications for a Deputy Sheriff to fill current vacancies and to establish an eligibility roster for future openings in the area of Adult Detention. 12 hour shifts, days vary.
Responsibilities
- Makes sure the safety and security of the County detention center.
- Monitors the activities of inmates and staff to protect their rights.
- Processes new inmates, including fingerprinting, photography, and booking duties.
- Ensures proper inmate release and handles paperwork.
- Maintains facility security by patrolling and operating security systems.
- Monitors inmate behavior and activities, including meal times and phone calls.
- Distributes and monitors the use of medications, mail, and commissary items.
- Administers inmate work release and performs random urinalysis.
- Transports and escorts inmates as needed.
- Responds to inmate requests for medical assistance.
- Keeps logs and maintains required documentation.
- Investigates incidents and prepares reports.
- Communicates and coordinates with other departments.
- Interacts with the public and other law enforcement agencies.
- Assists in various law enforcement tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Completion of the Department's Field Training Program.
- Idaho Driver's License.
- Additional certifications for specialized assignments may be required.
- Comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprints, polygraph, and psych evaluation.
- Must remain in good standing for the duration of employment.
