About the role
The FEMA Grants Programmatic Project Manager will oversee the execution of a major federal grant management program, ensuring contractual requirements, timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations are consistently achieved. This position involves coordinating teams, managing government relationships, and driving successful delivery across multiple workstreams while working remotely.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government contracting representatives and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage overall program execution, including quality assurance, quality control, schedule management, risk mitigation, and delivery performance.
- Develop and submit responses to contract requests, including technical approaches, staffing strategies, labor planning, and effort estimates.
- Coordinate project staffing by assigning qualified project managers, task leads, facilitators, and supporting personnel according to program requirements.
- Oversee contractor teams, subcontractors, vendors, and task activities to ensure compliant and timely execution.
- Prepare and deliver required reports, documentation, progress updates, and contract deliverables.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with government representatives, communicating accomplishments, challenges, risks, and corrective actions.
- Address project concerns and technical issues promptly while ensuring effective resolution and continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong governance practices and ensure all program activities align with federal requirements and contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 10 years of recent and relevant professional experience managing complex projects or programs.
- Experience supporting federal government programs, contracts, or public-sector initiatives preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government access, credentials, or suitability determinations.
- Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of project governance, quality management, scheduling, reporting, and risk management practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with government stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coordinating internal teams, contractors, subcontractors, and external partners.
