Feed Mill Technician – Monday-Friday, No Weekends!
About the Role
The Feed Mill Technician is responsible for manufacturing feed in accordance with standard operating procedures. This role involves operating computer automation systems to process ingredients, grind grains, mix and pellet feed, and manage equipment. Additional responsibilities include housekeeping, equipment maintenance and repair, and quality checks on feed and ingredients. Compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations is required.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment and automation systems
- Manufacture feed following quality assurance policies, standard operating procedures, and Current Good Manufacturing Practices
- Load outbound feed trucks according to standard operating procedures
- Sample ingredients and perform quality assurance tests
- Collect feed samples in accordance with the sampling plan
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Conduct routine housekeeping
- Operate forklift and pallet jack
- Comply with all company policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance
Working Conditions
This position generally works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime required as needed based on production and maintenance needs. The work environment includes exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures (heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions).
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly
- Perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling, reaching, and climbing ladders or equipment
- Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces
- Frequent use of hands and arms for activities such as grasping, pushing, and pulling
- Operate a pallet jack to move materials weighing up to 2,000 pounds
Pay
$22.50 per hour
