Microsoft's Deal Desk is a strategic partner to Sales, helping shape and execute complex deals with Microsoft’s largest and most strategic customers. We are seeking a Federal Services Contract Manager to join our team in Reston, Virginia. As a Federal Services Contract Manager, you will collaborate in a diverse and inclusive environment with customers of all sizes, designing and executing customized services deals to help them achieve more with Microsoft services. You will work in partnership with Microsoft’s sales teams and business groups to develop strategies for increasing Services revenue and accelerating customer satisfaction. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who love building relationships, analyzing business deals, simplifying complex scenarios, and creating deal terms that represent a mutual win for customers and Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Make empowered decisions on customer agreements, exercising sound business judgment.
  • Negotiate services contract terms and conditions to close deals.
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, finance, and other business groups to design winning offers and deal constructs.
  • Own the review, negotiation, and approval of non-standard contract terms and non-standard contract documents.
  • Drive business adherence to Services guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure negotiation strategies for services adhere to established principles and standards and help adapt those principles to the evolving technology marketplace.
  • Share best practices and coach sales teams to improve Microsoft’s deal-making capabilities and accelerate deal timelines.
  • Embody Microsoft’s culture and values.

Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
  • This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software/Cloud Services industry consulting and support contract management experience with the United States Federal Government.
  • Experience managing customer contracts and agreements while applying sound business judgment and contracting principles.
  • Proven complex negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, oral, and written communication ability, adaptable to engagements with all levels of an organization.
  • Highly attentive to workflows and deadlines.
  • Thoughtful risk-taking, with a demonstrated growth mindset and curiosity to learn independently.
  • Experience in sales and negotiation strategies ensuring adherence to established guidelines, policies, and legal standards.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, managing stakeholder relationships, demonstrating decision-making and critical thinking skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI for efficiencies.

Pay

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
