Federal Reporting Manager IV
About the role
The Federal Reporting Non-Medicaid Grants Manager IV works under the supervision of the Director of Federal & State Reporting within the CFO Accounting department. This position oversees the daily operations and activities of the Non-Medicaid grant reporting unit. This position prepares and certifies monthly, quarterly, and annual federal financial analyses and reports. It involves researching, interpreting, and applying federal rules and regulations in compliance with federal grant reporting standards. It also involves developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and overseeing the implementation of reporting requirements resulting from legislation.
Responsibilities
- Performs advanced accounting work related to federal financial grant reporting and managing staff's workload
- Oversees the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual state and federal financial reports which includes researching, interpreting, and applying pertinent state and federal rules and regulations
- Performs research on and resolves cost allocation, grant and general ledger accounting financial problems and questions as required
- Maintains and monitors accounting information from CAPPS Fin and external sources to ensure the integrity of the data reported
- Serves as liaison or contact person with agency staff, contract staff, auditors and federal representatives in areas of grant reporting and federal regulations related to various federal titles
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, finance, marketing, management, or another business-related field
- Each year of experience may substitute for one year of college on a year for year basis up to four years
- Three years’ experience in a team lead, supervisory, or managerial role
- Two years’ federal grant reporting experience
- Experience with computer software including but not limited to Excel, Word, CAPPS, USAS and other governmental financial applications

- Knowledge of state government accounting and budget processes and procedures
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to state and federal reporting
- Skills in reconciling and analyzing financial data
- Skills in written and oral communications
- Skills in computer software including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Access, CAPPS, USAS and other state/governmental financial or human resources applications
- Ability to manage unit activities
- Ability to establish goals and objectives
- Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions
- Ability to develop and evaluate policies and procedures
- Ability to prepare concise reports
