About the role
The Site Project Manager is responsible for site-specific Post Go-Live Transition Readiness project plan management; completing deliverable status reports to the client and internal teams; coordinating activities and ownership with client counterparts; executing Transition Readiness Methodology to ensure local informatics readiness to assume ownership of EHR support; advising the client on expectations in a consultative role; and managing client communication.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage all communication and relationships between the site and the Oracle Health Readiness Team
- Manage the site-specific project plan and timeline and drive local site Informatics to success in preparing them for their roles Post Go-Live
- Present content and drive execution of the Readiness Support Methodology at a local level
- Own coordination of the Event Driven methodology with internal and external stakeholders for specified site(s)
- Work closely with internal Engagement Management Team on Deployment schedules and events
- Cook up and manage all site call and event execution
- Responsible for tracking the timeline for IMS Updates to the VISN PM
- Responsible for tracking the timeline of PGL events for the MPR to report back to VISN PM
- Responsible for tracking and management of the Readiness Checklist
- Participate in internal scrums with Site Readiness counterparts
- Manage all site-specific risks and report back through internal Site Readiness scrums
Qualifications
- Recommended Qualifications for Site Project Manager: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, health informatics, business, or a related field (required); Master’s degree in health informatics, public health, business administration (MBA), or project management (preferred); 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, or EHR implementation/project management (required); Experience managing EHR transitions or post-go-live optimization efforts (strongly preferred); Prior experience working in a hospital, healthcare system, or VA environment (preferred); Hands-on experience with Oracle Health/Cerner solutions, including design, build, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization (required).
- Core Skills & Competencies: Project Management & Execution Experience leading site-specific readiness projects related to EHR implementation and transition; Ability to track deliverables and align them with Post Go-Live (PGL) Readiness milestones; Strong understanding of Event-Driven Methodology (EDM) and transition frameworks; Ability to assess current-state processes and provide strategic recommendations for future-state improvements; Oracle Health/Cerner Solutions Expertise Experience designing, configuring, and implementing Oracle Health/Cerner solutions, including clinical and operational workflows; Ability to troubleshoot and resolve EHR-related issues, collaborating with IT and clinical staff; Familiarity with Millennium architecture, PowerChart, Orders, and other Oracle Health/Cerner applications; Understanding of system testing, validation, and optimization to enhance user adoption and system performance; Healthcare & Informatics Expertise Deep understanding of clinical workflows, informatics principles, and site readiness requirements; Knowledge of VA and Oracle Health (Cerner) policies, contract, EHR governance, and post-go-live expectations; Familiarity with EHR data governance, reporting, and compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.); Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Experience engaging with local site informatics teams, leadership, and Oracle Health workstreams; Ability to facilitate collaborative problem-solving between technical, clinical, and operational teams; Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting readiness updates and reports; Ability to work across multiple internal and external teams, ensuring alignment and shared objectives; Professional presence with the ability to foster a culture of change and adaptability; Adaptability & Independent Work Agile and flexible in dynamic environments, able to adjust priorities as needed; Ability to work independently with minimal instruction, making informed decisions and driving initiatives forward; Comfortable managing ambiguity and navigating complex challenges with a solution-oriented mindset; Positive attitude and commitment to fostering collaboration and continuous improvement; Technical & Analytical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools; Ability to interpret EHR performance metrics and readiness indicators to drive decision-making; Familiarity with change request tracking, ticketing systems, and ITIL service management processes (preferred); Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread and edit content to ensure high-quality deliverables.
