About the Team

In this role, you will join IBM's US Federal team to deliver secure, mission-critical technology solutions for government agencies. You'll work with federal, state, and local clients while developing specialized expertise in government compliance and security standards. This role offers unique career growth in a high-demand sector where your contributions directly impact public services and government missions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and validate predictive and prescriptive models and create and maintain statistical models with a focus on big data and incorporating machine learning techniques in your projects.
  • Write programs to cleanse and integrate data in an efficient and reusable manner.
  • Work in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with other scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators of all backgrounds and disciplines to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of predicting behaviors.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs and appropriate modeling techniques to provide analytical solutions.
  • Evaluate modeling results and communicate the results to technical and non-technical audiences.

These positions are anticipated to start between March and August of 2027. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Federal security clearance while in IBM Consulting-Federal.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in Mathematics and Computer Science (algorithms).
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language, such as R, Python, Scala, SAS, SPSS, or Matlab.
  • Basic understanding of predictive/prescriptive modeling skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical abilities, a knack for driving impact and growth, and familiarity with programming/scripting in a language such as Java or Python.
  • Ability to solve problems by looking at things differently, debugging, troubleshooting, and designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Willingness to travel 100%.
