FDA Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Fellowship
About the role
The FDA Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Fellowship offers up to 14 research fellowships at the FDA, Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) in White Oak, Maryland. The program aims to provide students and recent graduates with opportunities to participate in project-specific research and development.
Research Project
The Artificial Intelligence Regulatory Science Program focuses on regulatory science research for AI/ML-enabled medical devices. This includes addressing critical regulatory challenges such as continuous learning and adaptation of AI devices, methods for training algorithms with limited datasets, and minimizing algorithmic bias.

Learning Objectives

Citizenship Requirements
This opportunity is available to U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR), and foreign nationals. Qualifications
- Have received or be currently pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in relevant fields.
- Have lived in the United States for at least 36 out of the past 60 months.

Stipend and Benefits
- The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience.

Program Information
The appointment will initially be for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of FDA and is contingent on the availability of funds. The appointment is full-time.
