About the role
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into scalable, high-performance solutions using Fastly's suite of products. You'll be a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them leverage Fastly's platform to achieve their business goals while pushing the boundaries of what's possible at the edge.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect innovative solutions using Fastly's Edge Cloud Platform, including CDN, Compute, Security, and Observability products
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical challenges and business objectives, then develop tailored solutions that address their unique needs
- Create technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and best practice recommendations
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to provide technical expertise and ensure customer success
- Deliver technical presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to customers and partners
- Stay current with Fastly's product roadmap and emerging technologies in the edge computing space
- Mentor and guide junior Solutions Architects and other technical team members
- Contribute to the development of Fastly's solution architecture methodologies and best practices
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical consulting, or a related field
- Deep understanding of web technologies, including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TLS, caching, and content delivery networks
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern web architectures
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Go, Rust, or Ruby)
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices for web applications and APIs
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, and logging)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to customer sites and industry events
