About the role

Nordstrom is seeking an Assistant Designer to join our Nordstrom Made design team. The Nordstrom Product Group develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels, shaping the styles and looks customers love. Successful interns may have the opportunity to join Nordstrom full‑time upon completion of their degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Design team to prep for key milestones
• Assist Design Director with buy meeting preparation
• Plan, facilitate and/or execute assigned design projects
• Support the Design Director with preparation of the trend report
• Collaborate with the design team and cross‑divisional partners
• Research trends and competitive brands

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Design
• Strong college portfolio of work

Skills

• Clear and effective written and verbal communication
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite, with hand‑sketching ability
• Adaptability to new technology and systems
• Strong time management and multi‑tasking abilities

Pay

Hourly rate: $25.00. Pay range for this role: $22.75 – $37.50 per hour (subject to location, knowledge, skills and experience).

Schedule

10‑week summer internship running from June 14 – August 20, 2027 in Seattle, WA. Travel and housing are sponsored during the program. Interviews occur in November 2026 with hiring decisions anticipated by January 2027.
