Fashion Design and Merchandising Residential Adjunct - College of Arts and Sciences

About the role

Teach courses in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, particularly in the residential Fashion Design program. Teaching responsibilities may include: Design and construction, Textiles, Fashion Illustration Skills, Draping for Apparel Design, Merchandising, and Flat Pattern for Apparel Design.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Family and Consumer Sciences Dept. Chair.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Classroom management and allocation of teaching resources.
• Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Requirements

• Masters with 18 graduate hours in the Fashion Design discipline or related areas.
• All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Demonstrate a personal faith commitment to Liberty University’s evangelical Christian purpose, as well as full adherence to its evangelical mission and doctrine.
• Organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to work well with students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Minimum Qualifications Masters with 18 graduate hours in the Fashion Design discipline or related areas.
• Other: All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
