Main Purpose
The main purpose of the Fashion Assistant role is to join our team as a storyteller who helps bring to life the email narratives that land in our customer's inbox.
Major Responsibilities
- Write compelling email copy to accompany stories—from subject lines and headlines to breaking down why a trend is worth shopping—and contribute to ad hoc copy projects across the team
- Build micro-editorial stories for email newsletters, fleshing out the angle, crafting the narrative, and selecting the products that bring it to life
- Handpick the styles that best represent each story concept, with a sharp instinct for what feels aspirational, on-trend, and true to the REVOLVE customer
- Execute a variety of story formats: two ways to wear the season's biggest trend, a packing list for every travel vibe, the best wedding guest dresses right now, outfit formulas for real life, and more
- Stay ahead of what's trending—in fashion, culture, and with our customer—to generate fresh story ideas that feel timely and exciting
- Juggle multiple stories and email features at once, managing timelines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Required Competencies
- A genuine obsession with fashion—you know what's trending before it trends
- A strong editorial instinct: the ability to build a compelling story around the right products and trends
- An eye for product—you can look at a full assortment and immediately know what belongs in the story
- Strong writing skills—you can craft a punchy headline, a trend-driven email intro, or a short product caption with ease
- Deep knowledge of contemporary fashion brands and the REVOLVE aesthetic
- Curiosity about what drives customer behavior and how editorial decisions connect to performance
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- A collaborative spirit and willingness to roll up your sleeves
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Journalism, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent experience
- Internship or coursework experience in fashion editorial, styling, fashion marketing, or e-commerce is a plus
- A portfolio, Instagram, or any creative work that shows your fashion point of view and storytelling instincts is highly encouraged
