Farmworkers

Temporary position from 09/01/2026 to 11/01/2026.

Responsibilities

• Unload potatoes from trucks and store them in facility buildings.
• Wash, sort, and grade potatoes by size.
• Package potatoes in 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 50-pound bags.
• Stack bags on pallets and in bins.
• Shrink wrap stacked pallets.
• Assemble bins, boxes, and other packing materials.
• Clean the plant and equipment.
• Inspect incoming potatoes during harvest, remove dirt and debris.
• Operate packing and unloading equipment.
• Clean harvest trucks.
• Operate bin piler to pile incoming potatoes in bins.
• Drive truck in field and under harvester.

Requirements

• Must have a regular driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable with repetitive movements.
• 3 months of potato-related experience required.
• Mechanical skills are beneficial.
• Must pass a post-hire drug test; failure will result in termination.

Pay

$19.33 per hour. Overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 48 in a work week. Pay increases may be granted at the employer’s discretion based on performance, longevity, and/or experience.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Benefits

• Work guaranteed for 3/4 of the contract period.
• Free housing provided for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance.
• Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to the work site upon 50% completion of the work contract for eligible workers.
• Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel, up to $68.00 per day with receipts.
• Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge.
• Paid sick and safe time accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours per year (MN State Statute).
