Farm Store Associate (Warehouse Focused) - EverGro - Madison, VA

About the role

Provide customers with friendly and efficient service while maintaining the professional appearance of the store showroom. This part-time role involves cross-training to support warehouse responsibilities and collaborating with team members on various tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with friendly & efficient service
• Process check-out, exchange and return transactions by utilizing point of sale equipment
• Help maintain the professional & clean appearance of the store showroom
• Promote & set-up for store events, display modules, special and more
• Cross-train to support warehouse responsibilities, helping load & unload customer/vendor deliveries
• Collaborate with team members on various responsibilities
• Fill propane cylinders
• Stock and replenish merchandise, assist with inventory responsibilities
• Proactively provide solutions to customer's questions & challenges
• Monitor & maintain a welcoming and secure environment
• Answer calls & help customers in a professional & courteous manner
• Work safely aligned with the cooperative's guidelines and regulations

Schedule

• Working on average 15-20+ hours per week, depending on store needs
• Work schedule will vary throughout Monday-Saturday, and will include rotation between opening/closing and weekend shifts potentially
• Willingness & ability to work during operating hours; Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm and Saturdays, 8am-3pm

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement or years of professional experience
• Prefer six (6) months of experience in a retail environment providing customer service & operating point of sale equipment
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Forklift Certification or willingness & ability to obtain the certification through on-the-job training
• Able & willing to learn to be trained to fill propane tanks
• A passion and enthusiasm to work with our cooperative customers to help improve and overcome any challenges related to their needs
• The ability to focus and work safely when operating equipment and helping customers
• Effective communication skills both oral & written
• A knack for relationship building and problem-solving
• A desire to learn, grow and work as a cross-functional team member with other divisions within EverGRO

Work environment

• This position will work both within an indoor storeroom setting, but will also be responsible for working outdoors at times to assist with customer needs on deliveries, pick-ups, etc.
