Farm Sod Delivery Driver
On-site position located at 8050 US Highway 27, South Bay, FL, 33493.
About the role
Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations. Perform delivery, pickup, and relocation of sod and materials. Conduct required before, during, and after operation “user maintenance” and provide reports. Deliver outstanding customer service during operations. Operate all Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Maintain certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs. Protect and maintain all entrusted property in excellent condition. Support and improve overall team operations through assigned tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of sod and materials
- Perform required before, during, and after operation “user maintenance” and provide reports
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Operate all Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Maintain all required certifications (DOT, OSHA, company safety programs)
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
- Safely load, block, brace, and secure cargo
- Make overnight runs as required by shipping needs
- Understand and comply with posted work rules and procedures
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve team operations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (only one)
- Valid medical certificate
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely at all times
- Ability to learn to operate all MHE used by the company
