About the role
Bee Sweet Citrus is seeking an optimistic, committed, and motivated student currently studying Agriculture Business (or related degrees) to engage in the management of fresh citrus production lines or farming operations. This internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and typically lasts three months, with the possibility of extension based on a 90-day evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Understand plant agronomy
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Demonstrate knowledge of different types of soils, water, fertilizers, and tree health
- Maintain organization and hands-on participation in farm operations
- Operate and understand farm equipment
- Work effectively within a team
- Utilize computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Clean driving record
- Ability to follow Fleet Safety Program and Policies
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to identify potential issues before they arise
Physical Requirements
- Ability to think rationally and apply logic during high-stress situations
- Capability to multitask and manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously
- Use arms to reach and hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects
- Stand for long periods
- Work with or near equipment with moving mechanical parts
- Work outdoors in diverse weather conditions
- Lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to fifty pounds or more
Qualifications
Enrolled in an accredited university or college, pursuing a degree in Agriculture Business or a related field.
Pay
$17.90 per hour
