Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist mechanics in performing routine maintenance tasks on tractors, movers, harvesters, and other sod-related machinery. Clean & lubricate equipment components. Inspect belts, hoses, filters, and other parts for wear & tear. Help with minor repairs, such as replacing worn-out blades or adjusting settings.
- Equipment Repair: Support mechanics in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues. Hand tools & parts to mechanics during repairs. Learn basis repair techniques & gain familiarity with common equipment problems.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of spare parts, tools, and supplies. Assist in organizing the workshop and maintaining an inventory system. Help order replacement parts as needed.
- Field Assistance: Accompany equipment operators to the field during sod harvesting & installation. Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and adjustments. Be prepared to troubleshoot minor issues during field operations.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times. Keep work areas clean and organized. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment usage. Assist in documenting equipment specifications and serial numbers.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
