Farm Assistant
About the role
TILL provides essential support to adults with developmental disabilities, learning differences, acquired brain injury, and other specialized needs through a wide range of housing options, from structured, staffed, small‑group living to individualized support options. The farm staff position is a field‑labor and educational role. Farming duties include preparing soil, digging, mulching, transplanting, planting, weeding (by hand or with tools), irrigation, trellising, harvesting, washing and packaging produce for sale or donation, greenhouse production, basic tool and equipment cleaning, sanitation and maintenance. The role also involves leading groups of individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities who visit the farm, guiding them through tasks and educating them about farming practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical labor of field preparation, planting, cultivating, weeding, mulching, etc.
- Perform general farm upkeep.
- Perform basic tool and equipment maintenance.
- Follow farm safety, food safety, farm sanitation, and emergency procedures.
- Lead and educate visiting groups about farming practices.
- Additional hours may be available through the TILL on the Go program in Maynard.
Qualifications
- Ability to do manual labor and work outdoors.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as with a team.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work weekends as needed.
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Pay
$21 per hour.
Schedule
Part‑time, 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule – any three days per week. Weekends may be required.
