Family Systems Therapist

About the role
The Family Systems Therapy (FST) program provides intensive home-based individual and family treatment addressing the multiple determinants of delinquent behavior in youth involved with Kenosha County Youth Justice Court. As the Family Systems Therapist, you will work with youth and families through multiple weekly contacts in the home or other community settings. The role follows the Multisystemic Therapy approach, focusing on understanding the function of the youth's maladaptive behavior and leveraging family strengths.
Responsibilities
- Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and create, implement, and evaluate client treatment plans.
- Counsel clients and families in accordance with the treatment plan.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing family system, mental health, parenting, and alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, and/or group counseling.
- Organize and facilitate structured group, individual, and/or family activities.
- Exercise judgement to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
- Safely transport clients as needed.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
Location
Kenosha, WI. Hybrid schedule with 50% work-from-home days. Local travel is required to meet with clients within the home and other community spaces throughout Kenosha County, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday. Flexibility for afternoon/evening sessions is required to accommodate family work/school schedules.
