About the role
You will provide parenting education and support to families. Healthy Families is a home visiting program designed to assist parents in either enhancing or learning the skills that enable them to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for their children.
Responsibilities
- Establish positive and professional relationships with families and provide services in their home.
- Utilize appropriate curricula and support materials to educate families on positive parent-child interaction and child development.
- Model and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Aid families in becoming more discerning consumers of community services and make referrals as needed.
- Participate in the development of a service plan for each family.
- Ensure that families have identified a primary healthcare provider and are receiving essential medical services.
- Responsible for performing duties associated with special program services such as FRC, special events, etc.
- Complete assigned paperwork as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Two years of work experience in human services.
- Experience with parenting education and/or early childhood development, preferred.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license, safe driving record, and have access to a vehicle for full-time business use.
