About the role

We are excited about the opportunity to make a life-changing impact as a part-time Family Support Worker within the Early Childhood Education Program at Metropolitan Family Services. This position offers a part-time schedule to support your work-life balance.

Pay

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $54,000 – $58,000 annually, based on skill and experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Support families in the program across Family Engagement, Disability, Health, Mental Health, and ERSEA service areas.
  • Ensure compliance with funder requirements, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and MFS policies.
  • Recruit and enroll children and families into the program, maintaining accurate documentation of age and income eligibility for participants.
  • Collaborate with program staff, site partners, and supervisor to coordinate services related to child and family well-being, including Disabilities, Health, Mental Health, Nutrition, and Family Partnerships.
  • Work with families and program staff to complete an accurate family assessment annually and provide intervention, referrals, and assistance for identified needs and circumstances.
  • Provide case management services to families and children, including assistance and referrals for emergency services, health/nutrition/dental referrals, disability referrals, and child abuse and neglect referrals, with follow-up to ensure services are received.

Physical demands

  • Required to sit and stand for sustained periods; frequently talk, hear, use hands to handle and operate objects or controls.
  • Occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Close visual acuity needed for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Additional requirements

  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and criminal background checks.

Transportation/Travel requirements

  • Driving for work required with a personally owned vehicle.
  • Travel between sites required.
