Family Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Offer home visits to expectant parents and caregivers of small children, providing parenting education, support, and advocacy.
• Link parents to resources, promote optimal child health and development, and problem solve with parents.
• Evaluate family needs and abilities on an ongoing basis.
• Assist families in designing individualized support plans and empower families over time to achieve their chosen goals.
• Participate in a nationwide home visitation initiative designed to empower families to become and remain healthy and strong.
• Primarily meet with clients in the home and maintain contact via telephone.

Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in health or human service-related field or education.
• Required: Associates degree in health and human service-related field or education and 2 years of experience.
