About the role

The Family Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing quality clinical services to children, families, and adults. This position requires a strong commitment to client-centered care, evidence-informed excellence, and a purpose-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best practice, quality clinical services ensuring all documentation is completed per payer’s, state licensing agent’s, COA, & HCA’s standards and established guidelines.
  • Aid in marketing for new referrals.
  • Communicate with customers, colleagues, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate, or explain information, and address complaints/concerns.
  • Develop treatment plans with the input of the treatment team and the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Offer individual, group, and family therapeutic interventions and skill-building as outlined in the Treatment Plan.
  • Implement Health Connect America approved therapeutic interventions as delineated on the treatment plan with clients and their families.
  • Complete all client documentation within established time frames.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly Treatment Team meetings.
  • Link the client and family with specific services and resources as identified in the treatment plan.
  • Actively recruit new referrals to ensure that your caseload stays full.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for clients as per program requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulatory bodies & COA standards.
  • Participate in and complete all assigned training and professional development activities, including E Learning courses.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a human services discipline such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or Criminal Justice, along with 1 year of experience working with children (including internships or volunteer experiences) is preferred, OR a BA/BS degree with 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with mental health and behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of COA accreditation standards and best practices.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Hours vary depending on the needs of the clients and the department. Full-time positions typically require a minimum of 35 hours per week.
