Family Services & Health Coordinator

About the role

As the Family Services & Health Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Grantee/Partner and Family Advocates to develop, implement, and refine Shine Early Learning’s family engagement and health and wellness approaches. Your work will promote family outcomes that support children’s school readiness and overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the Grantee/Partner and the Family Engagement Team to develop, implement, and refine Shine Early Learning’s family engagement and health and wellness approaches.
• Develop community partnerships to ensure children and families' self-sufficiency, preventive, and health treatment needs are met, establishing long-term relationships between families and providers.
• Build a collaborative team with Early Learning and Mental Health & Disabilities staff to enhance family life practices and circumstances that promote child development, health, and well-being.
• Maintain qualitative and quantitative quality improvement and monitoring systems to ensure program strategies are executed with reliability, fidelity, and quality.
• Oversee the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee.
• Coordinate with program leadership and the ERSEA Coordinator to develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies for children with the greatest need, including those from working families eligible for child care subsidies.
• Ensure family services and early learning teams work together to promote on-time daily attendance and implement strategies to reduce chronic absence.
• Support the ERSEA Coordinator in overseeing Family Advocates during the application, eligibility, and intake processes.
• Align the program’s Family Engagement approach with the Office of Head Start’s Parent, Family, Community Engagement Framework and enhance interventions to achieve family outcomes in seven targeted areas.
• Provide coaching and support to Family Advocates to ensure reliable family assessment and goal progress data, strengthening outcomes-focused family interventions.
• Utilize qualitative audit and external evaluation data to track child and family outcomes and refine strategies to enhance family impact.
• Support Family Advocates in assisting families to set individualized, evidence-based goals and make demonstrable changes in family life practices linked to school readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Development, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field; master’s preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience working with diverse families in low-income communities, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience and/or education in health or public health; LPN or RN preferred.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet program and community needs.
• Physical exam and background checks required.
• Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $67,000 annually.

Schedule

This position is expected to begin in Summer/Fall 2026.
