Family Service Coordinator/Developmental Specialist-Clovis

About the role

This position involves coordinating services such as Individualized Family Service Plans and transition activities, assisting in evaluation processes, and providing ongoing developmental instruction for infants to 3-year-old children with developmental delays or risk factors, along with their families.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services and activities for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or risks
• Assist in evaluation processes
• Provide ongoing developmental instruction
• Work with families to address needs and support transitions
• Handle various situations in a calm and professional manner
• Operate various office equipment

Requirements

• Associates degree in related field preferred (child development, communication disorders, family studies, human development, psychology, social work, sociology, special education)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid drivers license required
• Pass background screening and/or obtain base clearance
• Pass drug screening
• Ability to drive and get in/out of car multiple times for home visits/appointments
• Physical requirements: use arms, hands, and fingers; lift up to 25 lbs. frequently; walk, stand, and/or sit for at least eight hours per day; stoop, bend, reach out, lift, and work on knees; carry and hold children weighing up to 50 pounds; perform large volume of handwritten paper and computer work

• Excellent customer service with all internal and external customers
• Non-judgmental approach to diverse family dynamics, ethnicities, races, socioeconomic backgrounds, and environments
• Understanding of urgency and accuracy in work
• Ability to establish rapport with children and families
• Adaptability to changing work conditions including occasional evening and weekend work

Skills

• Bilingual (preferred but not required)
• Experience working with children and families (preferred but not required)
