About the role
The Foster Parent Recruiter ensures a pool of available local foster parents ready to care for children when the call comes. They create awareness of the need for local foster parents via paid and unpaid advertising, and by representing KidsPeace in community-based activities and events to create visibility about foster care.
Responsibilities
- Create awareness of the need for local foster parents via paid and unpaid advertising, and by representing KidsPeace in community-based activities and events to create visibility about foster care
- Recruit, interview, and evaluate foster parent candidates according to state and KidsPeace requirements
- Participate in training efforts to teach those parents the skills and knowledge about the foster care system and the children we serve
- Support foster parent recognition, retention and satisfaction through various office and community events
- Fundraise and create awareness of the ongoing need of resources and supports for local foster youth
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services degree required
- Prior experience in foster care, adoption, or other family serving systems preferred
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic Computer skills
- Valid Driver’s license and registered vehicle-able to work independently in the field
- Must be 21
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of foster care system and child welfare laws
