About the role

The MST Family Preservation Practitioner provides MST interventions to youth at risk for out-of-home placement and their families. Services are primarily community-based, involving youth in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems. The Practitioner delivers family interventions, monitors progress, coordinates with the MST Case Manager, and communicates with the MST Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate the mission, vision, and values of Choices and the practice of MST with the target population.
  • Attend or facilitate client staffings/treatment team meetings and document outcomes.
  • Meet regularly with the MST Expert and MST Clinical Supervisor for clinical supervision and seek further supervision when necessary.
  • Self-monitor billing and productivity levels, giving feedback to the supervisor on workflow and billing concerns.
  • Communicate with the MST Clinical Supervisor, Case Manager, and other clinical team members to coordinate services to youth and families.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Choices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or related human services field with at least two years of full-time experience providing direct mental health and/or case management services.
  • Indiana license preferred (Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist, License Independent Practice School Psychologist).
  • Maintain an active clinical license, as applicable, per respective professional license board.
  • Complete all required MST training prior to providing family preservation interventions.
  • Adhere to the established MST Quality Assurance Program (weekly supervision, expert-based consultation, quarterly Booster training, team support requirements, and data collection).
  • Demonstrate skills in MST assessment tools, interventions with youth and families, crisis intervention, team building, and development.
  • Show strong communication and writing skills, with bi-lingual skills (Spanish) a plus.
  • Be highly organized and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Communicate professionally in oral and written forms, including system development, change, and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external audiences, both in person and through various electronic media.
  • Be enthusiastic about advancing system change within the community.
  • Possess a valid driver's license in state of residence and auto insurance.
