Family Practitioner/General Practitioner
The Aspen Maternity and Women’s Health Clinic is located within Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC. This team-based clinic supports patients through pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, offering services such as pre-conception counselling, LARC placement and removal, pregnancy loss management, prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, and assistance with unplanned pregnancies.
Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) serves approximately 85,000 residents, providing emergency and trauma care, intensive care, acute medical conditions, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. Specialty services include ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, plastic surgery, psychiatry, urology, general surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, oncology, and internal medicine. The hospital operates a 24-hour High Acuity Response Team (HART), positioning it as the regional hub for critical care.
About the role
This is a 0.30 FTE position at the Aspen Maternity and Women’s Health Clinic, offering flexibility to design your own practice. The clinic operates weekdays, with evening and weekend call rotated among the team, supporting a strong work-life balance. Responsibilities
- Provide team-based maternity and women’s health care, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum support.
- Offer pre-conception counselling, LARC placement/removal, and management of pregnancy loss.
- Assist with unplanned pregnancies and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Participate in rotating evening and weekend call shifts.
- Engage as an active member of the local medical community.

Benefits
- Eligibility for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
- 11.48% retention premium.
- $17,791 retention flat fee.
- $9,000–$15,000 relocation funding based on move location.
- $15,000 recruitment incentive (prorated based on FTE).
Pay
Fee-for-service with estimated remuneration of $60,000–$100,000, depending on the number of shifts worked.
