Facility information
South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH) is a Level 1 Community Hospital serving approximately 22,000 people in Oliver, Osoyoos, Okanagan Falls and surrounding areas. It features a 24/7 Emergency Department with 18 inpatient beds, outpatient ambulatory care, acute care and allied health services including pharmacy, X-ray and lab. Most urgent referrals are made to Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department.
Opportunities
- Two Emergency Department physician positions available
- Supportive and collegial team of Family Practice, Family Practice–Emergency Medicine and CCFP (Emergency Medicine) physicians
- CCFP-EM/FP-EM not required but welcomed
- Flexible overlapping shift coverage:
- Winter: 0700–1500, 1300–2000, 1900–0700
- Summer: Daytime shifts extended by one hour to meet seasonal demand
- Locum opportunities available to visit the area before making a permanent decision
- Leadership development opportunities available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program
- Active collaboration with the University of British Columbia’s Southern Medical Program; opportunity to mentor Family Practice residents

Compensation
- Compensation type: Clinical Service Contract
- Estimated remuneration:
- EMEMGP: $366,046 per 1.0 FTE
- EMEMSP: $403,668 per 1.0 FTE

Benefits and incentives
- May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
- Retention Premium: 4.73%
- Retention Flat Fee: $7,322
- Relocation funding: $9,000–$15,000
- Recruitment Incentive: $10,000
- Other rural incentives subject to change; current rates confirmed at time of offer
