Role and Facility Information

Greenwood Medical Clinic in Greenwood & Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks is seeking a rural family physician to join a shared practice with two other young physicians.

The practice operates in a well-run low-overhead clinic with Primary Care Network staff, including a Social Worker and a Registered Nurse. The schedule is flexible, accommodating 1-3 weekdays in-office (including virtual consults) and 3-6 monthly 24-hour (or 12-hour equivalent) ER shifts at the Boundary District Hospital, along with in-patient and long-term care work.

The current Greenwood Clinic physicians are looking for a partner for cross-coverage/vacation coverage of office and hospital work, ensuring no need for locum tenens.

The practice offers a high-income arrangement with rural stipends and a flexible payment model (either FFS or LFP).

Physicians working in Greenwood can live in the Boundary/West Boundary area, with numerous homes and acreages available from Christina Lake to Rock Creek, and the largest center being Grand Forks.

The practice is part of the Kootenay Boundary (KB) Primary Care Network (PCN), which is an early adopter of the PCN approach. This network involves teams of FPs, NPs, RNs, Allied Health professionals, Aboriginal Health Coordinators, and other clinical staff working together to enhance patient care, access, and cultural safety in clinics across the region.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Remuneration: $500,000 Physician Overhead: TBD (Flat monthly fee, % share of clinic overhead costs)

  • Retention Premium: 20.58%
  • Retention Flat Fee: $31,893
  • Relocation Funding: Available ($9,000 - $15,000 based on move location)
  • R-recruitment Incentive: $20,000
  • Other Benefits/Incentives: RCME support up to $5,720 over 4 years, R-CMPA 50% of CMPA out-of-pocket costs for eligible rural physicians, and rural incentives subject to change.

Candidates with BC or Canada student loans may be eligible for loan forgiveness programs.
