About the Role
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), as an interdependent member of a primary care team, will function within established plans to provide primary health care services to ambulatory patients. The practice embraces preventive, curative, chronic, and health promotion care for individuals from infancy to old age, including early stages of illness, chronic disease, and wellness.
Patient assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic measures will be carried out in close collaboration with supervising physicians, clinic physicians, specialists, and community health care agencies. You will provide appropriate information to patients and families regarding diagnosis and treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary health care services to ambulatory patients within the specified population.
- Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and implement therapeutic measures in collaboration with the care team.
- Deliver preventive, curative, and chronic care, as well as health promotion for patients from infancy to old age.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Share appropriate diagnostic and treatment information with patients and families using shared decision-making.
Requirements
- Successful completion from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Idaho.
- Current certification from a national accrediting organization (e.g., NCCPA for PAs; AANP, ANCC, AANPCB, or NCC for NPs).
- Two (2) years of experience in primary care, or completion of a clinical nurse practitioner internship, or documented clinical training as an NP within Terry Reilly.
