About the Role
The Medical Director oversees clinical operations at juvenile detention centers, providing direct patient care, clinical supervision, and program development.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical screenings, evaluations, and primary care for adolescents.
- Serve as a liaison with hospitals and medical facilities.
- Participate in case management activities.
- Recruit, train, and oversee medical and dental providers.
- Ensure quality improvement and manage staffing and protocols.
- Coordinate with hospitals on patient transfers.
- Manage dental services.
- Ensure compliance with regulations like HIPAA.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- Engage in research initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Board certification in Pediatrics or Family Medicine.
- At least three years of experience with urban pediatric and adolescent populations.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
