About the role
This role involves delivering primary medical care to adult patients while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for adult patients.
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions within the primary care setting.
- Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including Buprenorphine therapy.
- Assess patient conditions, set treatment goals, and prescribe appropriate interventions.
- Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient progress in electronic health records (EHR).
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to guide clinical decision-making.
- Cook up medical consultations and patient transfers as necessary.
Requirements
- New York State licensure and registration as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Experience in Primary Care, HIV/AIDS management, harm reduction, and Buprenorphine treatment.
- Certification in Nursing practice or expertise in HIV/AIDS medicine.
- Preferred experience with electronic health records.
- Visual and auditory acuity for medical procedures and patient interaction.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.
- Maintenance of required CMEs/CEUs.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
