About the role

A licensed and credentialed physician specializing in Family Medicine, providing comprehensive care to both adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically assesses patients' health status and develops appropriate care plans
  • Provides primary care services including preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and illnesses
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests as needed
  • Prescribes medications and other treatments based on patient needs
  • Performs medical procedures within the scope of Family Medicine
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
  • Educates patients on self-care and wellness
  • Documents patient care in the electronic medical record system
  • Delegates tasks to appropriate personnel and monitors patient progress
  • Manages patient care and health status, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Contributes to practice management policies and practices that enhance patient access and quality of care
  • Participates in clinical quality improvement initiatives
  • Supports billing and documentation for professional services
  • Maintains and improves professional skills through continuing medical education
  • Manages chronic health conditions and provides medical leadership for the clinic and hospital
  • Serves as a resource to colleagues and support staff, enhancing overall quality of care
  • Trains and evaluates clinical support staff as needed
  • Attends and participates in clinic and hospital meetings
  • Participates in planning and budgeting for the clinic and health system
  • Collaborates with the Medical Staff and clinic committees
  • Engages in community education and other professional activities to promote practice growth and community wellness

Requirements

  • Current license to practice medicine in California and/or Nevada
  • Successful completion of medical residency in Family Medicine
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine
  • Current Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Membership on the Hospital’s medical staff and appropriate clinical privileges
  • Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance
  • Eligibility for participation in Medicare and Medi-Cal programs
  • Knowledge of industry standards for medical coding and documentation practices

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Experience in Family Medicine
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
