About the role

Provide locum tenens coverage as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician at a state prison, delivering primary and chronic care to adult incarcerated patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver primary and chronic care to adult incarcerated patients.
• Perform medical exams and manage acute and long-term conditions.
• Order and interpret tests, and coordinate with nursing and mental health teams.
• Practice evidence-based medicine within a secure setting.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with correctional health and safety protocols.
• Support access to quality healthcare for the inmate population.

Requirements

• Medical degree with licensure in good standing.
• Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Experience in primary care and managing chronic conditions.
• Ability to work within a correctional environment, adhering to protocols.
